Halloween Weekend

We had a super fun Halloween weekend!!
Here is our little cowboy!

We started out on Friday with a little Trick or Treating activity at Nate's work.
On Saturday, we went to our Ward's Trunk or Treat Activity and can you believe what was there for dinner!!!??? The In-n-Out Truck. It was so awesome!
Enjoying our In-n-Out together.
Our thirsty little cowboy!!
I was amazed at some of the ward member's trunks. They go all out!

After about the first 5 cars, Coulson started to get the hang of trick or treating. It was pretty cute. At home, I could get him to say Treat. But when we got there he was, of course, to shy to say anything. He would just walk up to them and put his hand out and then put the candy in his bag and then go to the next car. When anyone tried to talk to him he would just say "Hat, Hat."
He was so proud of his hat!
Our cowboy was a little scared of the black cat, but he was brave enough to get some candy real quick.
And our little cowboy won the the Best Children's Costume of the Night! Yea!!!
We came home and Coulson did what every little kid does... emptied his bucket and checked it all out!
On Sunday, I wanted to do something little, because it was Halloween after all. So Coulson helped me make a Halloween dinner for us and our friends, the Goodmans.
(Coulson loved helping me with dough and flour as you can tell!)
We had a green snake (baked ham and cheese sandwich), fingers ( carrotts with almond nails and ranch), green slime with worms, and along with pretzels, rice krispies, and cupcakes.
It was a great evening!
Hope everyone had a fun Halloween weekend!

We're Back... Halloween Fun!!!

We are finally back to blogging! I have a lot of catching up to do, but I decided to start with the most recent Halloween Fun. This past weekend we enjoyed taking Coulson to a little pumpkin patch to pick out his first pumpkin. He loved it! He is at such a fun age.

That evening we had our friends, the Goodmans, over for "dinner in a pumpkin" and pumpkin carving. It was such a fun evening!

My boys are such good "cheesers!"

FYI...

So I haven't posted for a little bit and I just thought I would let you know why... I accidentally spilled a glass of lemonade on our laptop and shorted out the motherboard. I know...wonderful, right?!?! I am posting this on Nate's work computer and will post as soon as I have access to a computer. I will have lots of catching to do!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

LA Temple and Santa Monica Pier

Last weekend we started out our adventure in California by going and seeing the LA temple and Santa Monica Pier.

The LA temple was beautiful! It was so so big, probably the biggest temple I have ever seen. We loved walking around it and visiting the new Vistor Center.

I have always seen pictures and seen the pier in movies, but have never been there till now. It was pretty fun, but super super packed with people.

I love these statue people. Coulson was totally intrigued by him!
Is that not the cutest face you have ever seen?!?!?!

Happy Birthday to the Love of my Life!

Yesterday was my sweet husband's birthday! You would never guess, but he turned 31!!
Nate,
Thanks so much for being such an amazing husband and daddy. We couldn't ask for a better one! Thank you for working so hard to provide for us and always making sure we are happy! We love you so much and are excited to share this next 6 months in sunny California with you!
Heidi and Coulson

P.S. Guess what showed up on Nate's Birthday... the moving van. Our stuff is here, yea!!!!!!

"Oh what do you do..."

"Oh what do you do in a hotel room when all your stuff is in Ohio"
(To the tune of the primary song, "Oh what do you do in the Summer time")

We swim in a pool to keep ourselves cool...

We eat yummy chocolate ice cream...

We go on lots of walks...

We visit Daddy's work...
"Is that what you do? So do I!"

Before we left Ohio, one of Nate's co-workers gave him a really cute going away gift... she gave him a bag full of 100 grand candy bars and a Mr. Potato Head. Her note with it said... you were worth a 100 grand to us here in Ohio, but don't forget your roots (Idaho Potatoes)! I thought that was such a cute gift. Well, that Mr.Potato Head has sure been valuable to us. Coulson has loved playing with it in the hotel room since he have hardly any toys to play with.

"Mom...quit taking pictures of me!!

What creativity!!
He got pretty good at it, but then I think he got a little bored and decided...

to make himself the Potato head!
I thought this was so cute and hilarious!
So just a little update on our current living situation. We are going on day 18 in a hotel, that is right DAY 18!! Our stuff is currently in transit from Ohio or that is what they at least tell us! The moving company said they have been super busy this summer and have ran out of drivers so that is what is causing the delay! I don't know what to think of all of this, but I do know that I am enjoying eating out at all of my favorite restaurants! Since it is their fault for the delay, they are paying for all our meals and hotel. I guess looking at the positive side, I don't have to cook or clean. I can handle that!!

Goodbye Ohio...Hello California

Our next adventure (or 6 month rotation) to California has come. Our time in Ohio flew by so fast. The movers came the last week of July and packed us up.
Coulson thought it was so fun to play hide and seek between all the boxes!

My poor baby was a little confused I think. He kept watching the movers as they were packing everything, especially his toys. He kept looking at me like, Mom, what is happening? What are they doing with all my toys.
Almost loaded!
Off to California!!!
Nate had a wonderful boss in Ohio. We loved his family. He had 2 kids that were around Coulson's age. Coulson just loved them. We had so much fun with them on our play dates.

These cute babies are all of Coulson's friends in our ward. They are all within a year from each other. So fun!!
We made so many friends in Ohio. It was so hard to leave. I am going to miss all of these cute Mommies and their babies. All of our husbands work for Avery Dennison and we are all in the same ward. It has been so fun with everyone, because we all are in the same stage of life.
Coulson is especially going to miss this adorable little girl, Claire. She was his first girlfriend! They love being with each other and are always hugging each other. They are 4 months apart.

They were inseparable!
Our last family picture in front of our apartment before we flew out!
Nate's first day of work in California!
Our first weekend in California we were able to go to a LA Dodger's Baseball Game! Avery has their own box suite there, so they had a little get together there with everyone. It was so awesome!

Our sweet baby was still on Eastern time and crashed about the 7 inning. He almost made it!
We are currently going on Day 5 in our hotel. We are just patiently waiting for the arrival of all of our stuff. Coulson has been doing well, given he has been in a hotel for so long with only a few toys that would fit in his diaper bag. We go on a lot of walks and go swimming almost everyday. We have been on quite the adventure and are looking forward to getting settled into our new apartment.

We just want to thank all of our friends in Ohio for everything. Thank you for all of the dinners, play dates, swimming days, and for being such amazing friends. When you live in area without family, your friends become your family and you become so close. We couldn't have done it without all of you. We are truly going to miss you. We are also going to miss our ward. We loved our ward. It felt like home. Thanks again. We love you all!
