We had lots of fun this past Easter weekend. It is hard for me to be away from family during the holidays, so we still try to do all the festivities we can!
On Saturday morning, we went to an Easter Egg Hunt with our friends, the Thomas.' Coulson and Shylie did pretty good, they got the hang of it real quick when they saw all the candy! The hunt is sponsored by Nestle, so we got some good candy!

I didn't want him to be scared of him like he was of Santa Claus, so we kept reassuring him that he was really nice. He didn't cry, but he had a pretty tight hold on me. We were proud of him for giving him a high five though! And he crashed about 5:00. It looks like Dad is pretty tired too! The Jungle Cruise, Coulson liked this one cause he said it was like a boat ride through the Zoo! Shooting Zurg with Dad on the Buzz Lightyear Ride! Coulson loved the train!
It was a pretty exciting day! A little overwhelming I think for a 2 year old, but we still enjoyed it!
Coulson's favorite part, we think was at the end of the day when Woody, Jesse, and Buzz passed by in the Parade. His mouth just dropped open and he couldn't believe his eyes that he was seeing them in real life. Nate and I thought it was a priceless moment.

On Monday, we and our friends the Thomas' went to Chuck E. Cheese for a little birthday party for Coulson. Coulson loved it there!

We have been wanting to go to Disneyland since we moved here and so we thought what better time then to take Coulson for his 2nd birthday! He is so so so excited! He loves watching Mickey Mouse Club House on Disney in the mornings and if any of you have ever watched it, you might remember the end theme song, Hot Dog! Here is a clip of it if you haven't seen it...
Because Coulson watches the show, he somehow has thought that Mickey Mouse's name is "Hot Dog." So anytime he refers to Mickey Mouse he refers to him as Hot Dog! If you ask him where he is going for his birthday he will tell you the Hot Dog Park! It is pretty cute!!
A couple of weeks ago, we went and walked around Downtown Disneyland with Nate's brother and his family. Coulson saw some banners advertising Disneyland with Mickey Mouse balloons on them. Now he relates Disneyland with those banners and says he wants to go back to the Hot Dog Balloons! Here is a little video of Coulson telling you what he is going to do for his birthday. He will tell you about the Hot Dog balloons before I can even ask him!
I had him say his name in the video because he has been saying his name is "Baby" for as long as we can remember. With a new baby coming, we thought it would be good if he learned his actual name. Nate finally got him to start saying it, but it is so funny, because he can't pronounce it. When he says it, it sounds like Co-nan. We also love the way he says "bananas" (ben-a-ben). Kids are so sweet!
***First of all, I did update my blog right after I said I would with more updates. But, after working on a big long post a couple of days later, blogger didn't save my post and it was some how erased. I was so mad that I had to cool off for a while. I am trying this once more now!***
In February, Nate finished his 2-year Financial Leadership Development Program with Avery Dennison. Can you believe it, we can't??!! It has been an amazing ride from one coast to the other, from Boston, to Cleveland, and to California. We have seen and experienced so much and have made some wonderful friends along the way. We have grown so much as a little family and are grateful we had this opportunity.
At the conclusion of the Finance Program we had to make a decision on where we would like to permanently live/work for the next couple years. It was a tough decision for us, but after many thoughts and prayers, we decided that California was the place for us!
Nate took a position at Avery's Corporate Headquarters in Pasadena, California, working in the financial planning and analysis department.
We were living in Avery's Corporate Housing, but since we took a permanent position here in California, we needed to move out and find a more permanent place. So we moved again for the 8th time in our 4 years of being married. We just love moving!!! The bummer about moving this time was, because we didn't move out of the city, Avery wouldn't move us, so Nate, Coulson, and I had the joy of doing it ourselves!

So a lot of things have happened in our little Rich family in the past couple of months. Instead of overwhelming myself with all the blogging I need to do to catch up, I decided to just take it little by little. So our first bit of news is...
Coulson will be a BIG BROTHER the first week of August!
He made the big announcement to our family this Christmas by wearing this cute shirt to our family Christmas parties. We are all super excited and we think Coulson is starting to understand the idea slowly!

So my poor baby is deathly afraid of Santa! We went to our Ward Party on Saturday and as soon as he heard those jingle bells, he grabbed on to us so so tight and wouldn't let go for anything! I felt so bad for him. We stood in line to see him and he was just shaking uncontrollably the whole time. The closer we got, the tighter he would hold on to us. He was scared of him last year, but I was hoping that since he was a little older he would do better, but I think it got worse. When it was time to sit on his lap, he screamed and screamed. In the second picture, we got him to say cheese while he was crying, it was so sweet. I felt so bad for him, I kinda felt like a bad mom for making my poor baby go through it. But, these are the memories you tell your kids about, right?!!!
I love Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving (especially in good old Rupert, Idaho)! I love how everyone is in the Christmas spirit and ready to kick-off the Christmas season. I was a little sad that we were unable to be in Rupert on the Square, so we went to Pasadena's Christmas kick-off and it was really fun! In Old Town Pasadena, they have a huge Christmas Tree that Santa drops in and lights up. Everyone also is given fairy dust (hence we don't have any snow here in CA) to through up in the air when the lights come on. It was a really enjoyable evening and completed with hot chocolate and cookies.
I have been trying to load a video of that night for days now and it won't upload, so I give up! I really wanted to post it, because we were pretty impressed that Santa knew how to repel. That is how Santa came to the party, he showed up on top of some tall buildings and then repelled down to the big Christmas tree to light it up!
Nathan and Heidi were married March 6, 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Nathan graduated from BYU-Idaho in December 2008 in Corporate Finance and is now working for Avery Dennison. Heidi is loving being a Mom and enjoying every minute of the day with her 2 boys, Coulson and Romney.
